4 New Deputy Unit Manager Opportunities β Specialist Nursing Home | Liverpool | Β£35kβΒ£40k
Are you a Registered Nurse looking to progress your career in clinical leadership and specialist care?
We are recruiting four Deputy Unit Managers to join a specialist nursing home in Liverpool, supporting the management of dedicated care units for adults with complex care needs, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), neurological conditions, EMI, dementia and associated nursing and mental health needs.
These are brand-new positions created to strengthen the clinical leadership team and support the continued development of the service. Each Deputy Unit Manager will help oversee the day-to-day running of their allocated unit, working closely with the wider management team to maintain high standards of nursing care, resident safety and regulatory compliance.
We are particularly interested in nurses with experience in complex care, ABI or neurorehabilitation. However, applications are also welcomed from suitably qualified nurses working in acute hospitals, general nursing homes, dementia services or other clinical environments who are keen to develop their careers within specialist care.
The Role β Deputy Unit Manager
As Deputy Unit Manager, you will support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care within your allocated unit, providing clinical leadership to nursing and care teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
-
Supporting the day-to-day clinical and operational management of your unit.
-
Providing leadership, guidance and support to nurses, senior carers and care staff.
-
Ensuring residents receive individualised care based on thorough assessments, care plans and risk assessments.
-
Monitoring clinical standards, documentation, medicines management and resident wellbeing.
-
Supporting clinical audits, quality assurance processes and service improvement action plans.
-
Ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, safeguarding procedures and clinical governance standards.
-
Supporting staff supervision, performance management, recruitment and team development.
-
Working collaboratively with families, GPs, community services and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
-
Promoting dignity, independence, choice and positive outcomes for residents with complex needs.
-
Supporting the Unit Manager and wider management team to address clinical risks and maintain consistent care standards.
Specialist Care Areas
The four positions will support units delivering care across a range of specialist services, including:
-
Complex Care: Adults with complex nursing requirements and multiple health needs.
-
ABI Care: Acquired Brain Injury and associated cognitive, physical and behavioural needs.
-
Neuro Care: Neurological conditions and specialist nursing support.
-
EMI and Dementia Care: Older adults with dementia and complex mental health needs.
-
Mental Health and Learning Disabilities: Where relevant to individual residents and service needs.
This is an opportunity to develop or build on your experience within specialist nursing and complex care, working with residents who require tailored clinical support and a multidisciplinary approach.
About You

A nursing qualification and an active NMC PIN as an RGN, RMN or RNLD.
-
Experience working in a clinical healthcare setting.
-
Good clinical assessment, care planning and risk management skills.

-
Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
-
A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Experience in complex care, ABI, neurorehabilitation, dementia or mental health services would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with a strong clinical background and the right attitude.
Nurses currently working in hospitals, acute care, general nursing homes or other relevant clinical settings are encouraged to apply if they are ready to take the next step into unit-level leadership.
