Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential setting
  • Proven track record of managing an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding children’s home
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England)
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
  • Resilient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people
  • Positive, proactive, and team-focused approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the residential children’s home
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the staff team
  • Promote positive outcomes for young people through high-quality, child-centred care
  • Create a safe, secure, and supportive environment for both staff and young people
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, behaviour management, and placement matching
  • Support with referrals and admissions processes
  • Build effective relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain Good or Outstanding Ofsted standards
  • Inspire and motivate the team to achieve the highest standards of care
