This role is ideal for an RVN with at least one year of post-qualification experience and a passion for surgical nursing. You’ll be involved in advanced anaesthesia, theatre support, patient preparation and post-operative care, working alongside a team of specialist surgeons, experienced nurses and dedicated theatre technicians. Whether you already have referral experience or are looking to take the next step from general practice, full training and support will be provided.
The clinic accepts referrals across a broad range of disciplines including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, medicine, neurology, dentistry, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging and emergency and critical care. The surgery team includes multiple specialist surgeons, experienced referral nurses and dedicated surgical technicians, creating an outstanding environment for professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor anaesthesia and sedation for advanced surgical and imaging procedures.
- Scrub in and assist with orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries.
- Clip and prepare patients for surgery.
- Organise and maintain theatre areas.
- Admit and discharge patients.
- Maintain surgical instruments and specialist equipment.
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans.
Working Pattern:
- Full-time permanent role, 40 hours per week.
- Four 10-hour shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- One weekend in eight with days off in lieu the following week.
