An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a highly regarded, RCVS-accredited mixed animal practice located in one of Aberdeenshire’s most picturesque and historically rich towns. This independent, two-branch practice enjoys a strong reputation for excellence and community care, treating a broad spectrum of species including cats, dogs, small mammals, birds, cattle, deer, equines, pigs, poultry, sheep, and goats. The team offers an extensive range of veterinary services from routine check-ups, vaccinations, and microchipping to advanced surgical procedures.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident veterinary surgeon, comfortable consulting and operating, and enthusiastic about working collaboratively as part of a supportive and talented team. A willingness to mentor less experienced colleagues would be warmly welcomed.
About the Location: Nestled in a town renowned for its ancient Pictish stones, majestic castles, and vibrant town centre, this is an ideal home for anyone who appreciates Scottish history, culture, and natural beauty. The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering exceptional opportunities for hillwalking, cycling, and fishing.
Practice Facilities: The practice is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including ultrasound, endoscopy, X-ray, in-house laboratory and blood analysis, as well as separate cat and dog wards, spacious hospitalisation areas, and large walk-in kennels for bigger breeds. The new recruit will be joining a team of 15 Veterinary Surgeons, including a certificate holder in Equine Practice, supported by a skilled nursing team and a dedicated administrative staff who pride themselves on their warm and welcoming environment.
Role Details: Full or Part-Time options available. Based at the main Aberdeenshire surgery. Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm weekdays, with occasional Saturday mornings (8:00am – 12:30pm). No out-of-hours work.
