- The hospital is now looking to welcome a dedicated OOH ECC Veterinary Surgeon into their experienced and welcoming team. This is a permanent, part-time position that follows a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, covering shifts from 8pm to 8am, offering both stability and generous time off between blocks. You\’ll never be alone on shift—working alongside a skilled OOH RVN and VCA, with a twilight RVN on duty until midnight and reception support available until 10pm. Plus, the day team includes certificate holders in small animal surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry, who are always happy to provide guidance and support when needed.
The hospital is exceptionally well equipped, providing you with all the tools necessary to confidently manage emergency cases. Facilities include full in-house laboratory (Procyte, Catalyst Dx, EPOC, Coags), transfusion medicine capabilities, digital X-ray, advanced ultrasound with Doppler, visiting CT for further diagnostics, dental radiography with CR7 developer, flexible and rigid endoscopy, ECG, capnography, Doppler BP, Gen11 vessel sealing, Valleylab monopolar/bipolar, Ligaclips, and advanced sterilisation systems. Whether you\’re managing an Addisonian crisis, diabetic ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, or undertaking emergency surgeries such as caesareans, pyometras, or enterotomies, you’ll have the tools and team around you to deliver gold-standard care.
You’ll become part of a passionate team of over 70 professionals, including 15 vets, all working together in a positive, collaborative environment. The culture is supportive and progressive, with a genuine emphasis on clinical development, team wellbeing, and patient care. Ongoing training and development are actively encouraged, and while the night role requires a level of independence, further training and mentoring are available to help you grow into the position if needed.
