We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Mental Health Practitioner to join a well-established Recovery Service in Old Trafford, Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a specialist supported living service, supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs and individuals with learning disabilities. The service is centred around recovery-focused, person-centred support that promotes independence, resilience, wellbeing, and active community engagement.

The Role

As Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with the Service Manager to lead and support a dedicated staff team, ensuring high-quality care and positive outcomes for service users.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day management and supervision of the team
  • Conducting holistic assessments and developing tailored support plans
  • Promoting recovery, independence, and strength-based approaches
  • Building positive, therapeutic relationships with service users
  • Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Managing risk effectively and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met
  • Maintaining accurate records using the ECCO system
  • Supporting safe medication management and administration
  • Contributing to the overall quality and development of the service

About You

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within mental health or recovery-focused services
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A good understanding of recovery principles and person-centred care
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the MHA, MCA, DoLS, and care standards
  • Experience in risk management, support planning, and care coordination
  • The ability to work flexibly on a rota basis
  • A professional, proactive, and empathetic approach
