Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (LD/EBD)

Location: Whalley Range, Manchester

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE)

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working within children's residential care
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step into registration
  • Experience supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and manage a high-performing team
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing and service performance
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Child-centred approach with a passion for delivering outstanding outcomes
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management and overall operation of a 2-bed children's residential home
  • Hold responsibility for ensuring the home remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and statutory requirements
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child-focused environment
  • Lead, mentor and develop the staff team, promoting a positive and supportive culture
  • Oversee recruitment, supervision, performance management and staff development
  • Ensure effective safeguarding practices are embedded throughout the service
  • Manage budgets, rotas and the overall operational performance of the home
  • Develop and review care plans, risk assessments and placement plans to achieve positive outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and other professionals
  • Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections
  • Play a key role in shaping and developing the home's flexible service model during an exciting period of organisational growth
