Be part of a highly skilled team including 14 vets, 17 experienced vet nurses, 5 auxiliary nurses, and 4 certificate holders in imaging, cardiology, ECC, and more. Modern branches with full daily support from the main centre. An opportunity has opened for a motivated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to run one of this independent group's 7 fully staffed, modern branches in the Barnsley area. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys seeing their own clients, managing cases from consult to surgery, and building strong client relationships, while still benefiting from full daily support from a busy and wellâequipped central 24hr practice.
Each day, vets have 2 hours for surgery and a 2âhour lunch break. All surgeries are carried out at the main RCVSâaccredited Tier 2 centre, which handles 25â30 surgical procedures daily, allowing great exposure and learning opportunities. The centre has 5 theatres, full inâhouse lab suite (IDEXX), ECG, endoscopy, digital imaging, and a dedicated hydrotherapy and physiotherapy centre onâsite.
The Team & Support
- Work alongside a friendly and supportive team of 14 vets, 17 experienced RVNs, and 5 auxiliary nurses.
- Learn from and be supported by 4 certificate holders across various disciplines.
- All branches are airâconditioned, have two consult rooms, and are staffed all day.
- Enjoy a busy, vibrant working environment where learning and collaboration are encouraged daily.
Your Role
- Lead your own branch, with the opportunity to manage your own caseload, consults, and client base.
- Enjoy the best of both worlds: autonomy in your branch with the resources and backup of a larger central practice.
- Monthly bonus based on a direct percentage of your branch's turnover â reflecting your individual effort and expertise.
Rota & WorkâLife Balance
- Fullâtime, permanent role.
- Alternate 4â and 5âday weeks.
- 2âhour lunch and 2âhour daily operation slot.
- 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) every ~5 weeks (8amâ5pm).
- No night emergencies.
Salary & Benefits
- ÂŁ50,000 â ÂŁ90,000 salary (depending on experience).
- Monthly bonus scheme based on branch turnover.
- 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (only 1 required to work).
- ÂŁ3,000 CPD allowance + 2 weeks paid CPD leave.
