Are you an experienced Façade Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with greater technical responsibility, client ownership, and leadership opportunities? We are working with a highly respected building envelope consultancy that is looking to appoint an Associate Façade Engineer to support the continued growth of its façade engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-profile projects while helping to develop both the business and junior engineers.
You will be joining a collaborative, technically driven team that works across a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, education, and complex landmark developments.
The Role
As an Associate Façade Engineer, you will lead projects from concept through to completion, providing technical expertise on a wide range of façade systems while acting as a trusted advisor to clients, architects, and contractors. You will also contribute to business development, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the future direction of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of façade engineering projects across multiple sectors.
- Manage client relationships and act as the primary technical point of contact.
- Provide technical advice on curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, glazing, roofing, and specialist façade systems.
- Carry out façade design reviews, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
- Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site inspections.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Mentor and develop Graduate and Senior Façade Engineers.
- Assist with fee proposals, project planning, and resource management.
- Support business development activities and help generate new opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Façade Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience within façade engineering or building envelope consultancy.
- Strong technical knowledge of façade systems, materials, structural behaviour, thermal performance, weatherproofing, and relevant industry standards.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Experience mentoring or managing engineers.
- Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
