Facade Engineer Location: Manchester Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time The Opportunity A role is available for a Facade Engineer to work on the technical development and delivery of building envelope systems across a variety of projects. This position suits someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working closely with design and construction teams to deliver high-performing facade solutions. Responsibilities Develop facade and envelope designs from concept to construction stage Engineer facade systems including glazing, curtain walling, cladding, and rainscreen assemblies Assess structural integrity, thermal performance, air and water tightness Produce calculations, reports, specifications, and detailed technical documentation Liaise with architects, contractors, and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle Review technical submissions, drawings, and material proposals Provide technical support during site works and respond to design queries Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and project criteria Candidate Profile Degree-qualified in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline Experience working with facade or building envelope systems Solid knowledge of materials, fixings, interfaces, and installation methods Familiarity with relevant design codes and performance testing Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience Involvement in complex or large-scale projects Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, or facade performance modeling Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams Professional accreditation or progress toward chartership What You’ll Gain Exposure to diverse facade systems and challenging projects Career development and technical growth opportunities A collaborative working environment with experienced professionals Competitive remuneration package
