Registered Manager Location: Surbiton, London

Home: Brand-new 4-bed children's residential home supporting children and young people aged 7-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum with Ofsted related bonus

What a Successful Applicant Should Have:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children in a residential care setting within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year's experience in a senior or leadership position within residential childcare
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures
  • Experience developing and implementing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams
  • Experience working effectively with external agencies and stakeholders
  • Understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Children Act 1989 & 2004, and Care Standards Act 2000
  • Knowledge of attachment theory, child development, trauma-informed practice, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
  • Strong organisational, communication, and budget management skills

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home
  • Ensure the home consistently delivers outstanding standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing care team
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, and the delivery of individualised support
  • Promote positive outcomes, emotional development, and stability for children and young people
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, professionals, families, and external agencies
  • Monitor and continuously improve the quality of care and service delivery
  • Manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively to ensure operational success
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, driving the home towards positive outcomes
  • Ensure all safeguarding concerns are appropriately managed and reported in line with legislation and best practice
