Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Salary: Up to £43,000 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to help lead a small children’s residential home. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the home operates to the highest standards, fully aligned with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. This is a varied and rewarding position that combines safeguarding, staff supervision, rota coordination, and direct involvement in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. The role also requires flexibility, including participation in the on-call rota and covering shifts where needed. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring full compliance with legislation, regulations, and contractual requirements. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring their health, education, and emotional needs are met. Supervise, coach, and develop staff to maintain consistently high standards of care and professional practice. Contribute to budget planning, monitoring, and financial management. Build and maintain effective relationships with external agencies to support individual care plans and promote strong multi-agency working. Assist with staff recruitment, training, and workforce planning to maintain a skilled and resilient team. Implement changes in line with updated legislation, guidance, and inspection outcomes. Foster a positive culture of safety, equality, and continuous improvement within the home.
