We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and resilient Children’s Home Manager to lead a warm, nurturing 3-bed EBD children’s home in Bury. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, child-centred care to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring their safety, development, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership to a dedicated care team
- Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement high-quality care plans tailored to each young person
- Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
- Manage staffing, rotas, supervision, and professional development
- Work effectively with placing authorities, families, and external professionals
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support strategies
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently
About You
- Proven experience managing or deputy-managing a children’s home (EBD/SEMH preferred)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Strong knowledge of children’s residential legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks
- Confident leader with excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Calm, resilient, and child-focused, with a genuine commitment to improving young lives
