We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established children’s residential care provider for an experienced Registered Manager – Intake & Assessment to lead the admissions and assessment service in Birmingham.
This key leadership role involves overseeing the intake process, ensuring each child receives a safe, appropriate placement supported by comprehensive assessments that promote wellbeing and positive long-term outcomes.
Role OverviewAs Registered Manager, you will be responsible for managing the intake and assessment procedures, ensuring all placements are child-centred, compliant with Ofsted regulations, and meet the individual needs of each child. You will collaborate with local authorities, families, and internal teams to facilitate smooth transitions and deliver high-quality care from the outset.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all intake, referral, and assessment processes for new admissions
- Ensure placements are safe, appropriate, and tailored to individual needs
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
- Lead, support, and develop staff to provide excellent care
- Build and maintain professional relationships with commissioners and stakeholders
- Oversee care planning, risk management, and placement transitions
- Promote continuous improvement and maintain high service standards
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience managing or deputising within a children’s residential setting
