Our client, a leading consultancy specialising in building safety and compliance, is seeking an experienced Façade Inspector to join their expanding fire and cladding team. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical projects focused on external wall systems, fire risk mitigation, and post-Grenfell compliance across residential and mixed-use buildings.
Responsibilities
- Carry out intrusive and non-intrusive façade and cladding inspections
- Assess external wall systems in relation to fire spread, combustibility, and system design
- Inspect cladding types, insulation, cavity barriers, fire stopping, and fixings
- Identify defects, fire safety risks, and non-compliance with regulations
- Produce clear, accurate technical reports with remediation recommendations
- Support EWS1 assessments and wider building safety programmes (where applicable)
- Liaise with clients, contractors, fire engineers, and internal technical teams
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation, guidance, and standards
Requirements
- Experience in façade inspection, cladding assessment, fire safety, or building surveying
- Strong understanding of external wall systems and cladding materials
- Knowledge of fire safety principles relating to façades and building envelopes
- Familiarity with current building regulations and fire guidance
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Relevant qualifications in construction, surveying, engineering, or fire safety
