Children's Home Senior Residential Support Worker

Salary: Β£15.25–£16.25 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Wolverhampton, WV10
Home Size: 3 Bed EBD Therapeutic Children's Home

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker within children's residential care
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care
  • Full manual UK driving licence
  • Passion for creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people
  • Strong understanding of the needs of children and young people in residential care
  • Motivated, resilient and positive approach
  • Open-minded attitude towards working within a therapeutic environment
  • Ability to lead, mentor and support colleagues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibility and develop as a leader

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe and nurturing care to children and young people
  • Take a senior role in the day-to-day running of the children's home
  • Lead by example and support Residential Support Workers in delivering high standards of care
  • Mentor, guide and support colleagues to develop their skills and confidence
  • Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people
  • Support the delivery of therapeutic, child-centred care
  • Follow individual care plans, safeguarding procedures and agreed therapeutic approaches
  • Support young people with their emotional wellbeing, development and individual needs
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations and support positive behaviour
  • Help maintain a stable, supportive and homely environment
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the home and the effective delivery of daily routines
  • Support colleagues to maintain high standards of safeguarding, records and professional practice
  • Participate fully in the fixed shift pattern and sleep-in requirements
  • Complete required training and engage in ongoing professional development
  • Support the development of a positive, reflective and child-focused team culture
  • Help shape the future of the brand-new therapeutic children's home
