A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursing Home Deputy Manager to join a leading care provider in Wigan. This is a dual-registered nursing and residential care home with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality care, developing its staff and providing genuine career progression opportunities.

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursing Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the care home and ensure consistently high standards of care, leadership and resident experience. The role offers a 40-hour contract, with a structured balance between management responsibilities and hands-on leadership:

  • 2 days per week supernumerary, supporting the management and leadership of the home
  • 2 days per week working on the floor, supporting residents and the care team
  • Supporting the Nursing Home Manager with the overall running of the service
  • Leading, supervising and developing care staff
  • Maintaining high standards of care and resident wellbeing
  • Supporting care planning, audits, quality assurance and compliance
  • Ensuring policies, procedures and regulatory standards are followed
  • Supporting staff development, training and performance
  • Helping to maintain a positive, professional and person-centred culture

We are considering applications from both clinical and non-clinical Deputy Managers. You may be an:

  • Experienced Nursing Home Deputy Manager
  • Deputy Manager from a nursing, residential or dual-registered care home
  • Experienced Care Home Manager or Senior Care professional looking for their next step
  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with leadership or management experience within a nursing home
  • Senior Carer or Clinical Lead ready to progress into a Deputy Manager role
  • Experienced care professional with strong knowledge of elderly care and care home operations

Previous experience within a nursing home, residential care home, elderly care or dual-registered care setting is highly desirable.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Non-Clinical Deputy Manager: £15 per hour
  • Clinical / Nurse-Qualified Deputy Manager: £22 per hour
