Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within children's residential care
  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential or Children's Workforce
  • Full manual UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience supporting and supervising team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and cover shifts as required
  • Comfortable using electronic care recording systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Experience using Clearcare is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided
  • Must be passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Sponsorship is not available for this role

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support young people with their daily routines, including getting ready for school, mealtimes and activities
  • Supervise, mentor and support a team of Residential Support Workers
  • Ensure children and young people receive the highest level of care and support
  • Provide timely updates to the Home Management Team
  • Complete an average of 8 overnight sleep-ins per month
  • Promote an individualised approach to care and support
  • Monitor care plans and produce reports for managers
  • Create a warm and homely environment, including light housekeeping duties
  • Build meaningful relationships and provide emotional support to young people
  • Plan and participate in activities such as trips to the park, movie nights and creative projects
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and update care documentation on a daily basis
  • Support the creation of a safe, stable and nurturing environment where young people can thrive
