Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Salary: £36,000 per annum (40-hour contract) | £42,000 per annum (48-hour contract) + Sleep-In Payments

Qualifications and Experience
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior support role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Resilient, confident, and able to make informed decisions under pressure
- Flexible approach to shift work, including evenings and weekends
- Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 12 months
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the overall management of the children’s home
- Lead shifts and oversee the daily operation of the service
- Supervise, support, and develop residential care staff
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance are maintained
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and case conferences
- Monitor and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through child-centred care practices
- Support behaviour management and emotional wellbeing strategies
- Participate in the staff rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required
- Act as the lead person in the absence of the Registered Manager
