The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in children's residential care
  • At least 1 year's experience in a supervisory or deputy management role
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care regulations
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and remain calm under pressure
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Caring, approachable and team-focused attitude

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
  • Lead the home in the Registered Manager's absence, including participating in on-call duties
  • Supervise and support staff and assist with recruitment, training and performance management
  • Ensure each child has an individualised Care Plan involving them and their family or advocate
  • Work closely with social workers and other professionals to review and develop care plans
  • Manage staff rotas and lead team meetings
  • Report accidents, incidents and safeguarding concerns in line with Ofsted regulations
  • Support children's education, social activities and healthy lifestyles
  • Help maintain a safe, clean and homely environment
  • Transport children to appointments, school and leisure activities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and company policies
  • Complete reports and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards within the home
