About the Home

As a small care home, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with residents, families and your team, creating a positive culture where exceptional care always comes first.

This is a hands‑on management role, and we're looking for someone who enjoys being visible within the home, supporting residents and leading by example.

The Role

As Care Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the home, ensuring outstanding care, regulatory compliance and excellent resident outcomes.

You'll work closely with senior management while having the autonomy to lead your own service and develop your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day management of the residential care home.
  • Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for elderly residents.
  • Lead from the front with a visible, hands‑on management style.
  • Develop, review and oversee person‑centred care plans and risk assessments.
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead clinical governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high‑performing care team.
  • Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and performance management.
  • Support staff through coaching, mentoring and ongoing development.
  • Oversee medication management and auditing.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and ensure best practice is maintained.
  • Build excellent relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and local authorities.
  • Promote occupancy and maintain the home's excellent reputation within the community.
  • Ensure effective rota management, staffing levels and budget control.

About You

We're looking for a caring leader who genuinely enjoys making a difference.

You may currently be:

  • Registered Care Home Manager
  • Care Home Manager
  • Deputy Manager ready for promotion
  • Domiciliary Care Manager looking to move into residential care

You'll have:

  • Experience within elderly residential or nursing care.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care.
  • Strong hands‑on care experience and the ability to support your team on the floor when needed.
  • Experience developing and reviewing care plans.
  • Good understanding of CQC regulations, governance and compliance.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessments and person‑centred care.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Adult Care (or willingness to work towards it).
