Occupational Hygienist
Location: London & UK-wide Travel (with occasional overnight stays and potential overseas travel)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Hygienistto join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Hygienist who is passionate about protecting workplace health and helping organisations create safer working environments.
You will work with a diverse range of clients across multiple industries, delivering high-quality occupational hygiene services, providing expert advice, and ensuring compliance with current UK legislation and industry best practice. The role involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays and opportunities for overseas work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace monitoring and exposure assessments for physical, chemical and biological hazards.
- Carry out occupational hygiene surveys, inspections and risk assessments.
- Provide expert occupational hygiene advice to clients across a range of industries.
- Prepare clear, accurate and professional technical reports within agreed timescales.
- Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions and presentations to clients.
- Support clients in meeting current health, safety and occupational hygiene legislation and best practice.
- Develop strong client relationships by delivering an exceptional level of service.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional Occupational Health, Hygiene and Health & Safety services.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, guidance and industry best practice through continuous professional development.
- Share technical knowledge and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support colleagues through coaching and sharing technical expertise.
- Contribute to the development of new occupational hygiene services and solutions.
- Assist with internal health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all documentation, reports and records are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
- Attend customer meetings and present findings where required.
- Ensure company processes, quality standards and expense procedures are followed.
- Identify opportunities for business development and long-term client partnerships.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Essential
- Degree in a Science-related discipline.
- Certificate or Diploma of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Occupational Hygiene role.
- Strong knowledge of UK occupational hygiene legislation and best practice.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and travel within Europe or offshore without visa restrictions.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
Desirable
- Environmental monitoring or environmental consultancy experience.
- Experience delivering presentations, training or toolbox talks.
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. BOHS) would be advantageous.
