Registered Manager – 3 Bed EBD Children’s Home
Location: Handsworth
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed EBD children’s home, providing high-quality, therapeutic care to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring outstanding care standards, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the staff team
- Ensure the home delivers safe, nurturing, and child-centred care
- Develop and embed robust care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Manage staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance
- Maintain occupancy levels and effective budget management
- Work closely with placing authorities, professionals, and families
- Promote safeguarding, equality, and positive outcomes for young people
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Significant experience working with children with EBD/complex needs
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people
