We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our dedicated primary care team at Alwoodley Medical Centre. This vacancy has arisen as one of our long-standing and highly valued Practice Nurses retires after many years of exceptional service. About the Role
As a Practice Nurse, you will deliver a wide range of high-quality nursing services that support the health and wellbeing of our patient population. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to:
- Management of long‑term conditions
- Treatment room duties
- Immunisation and screening programmes
- Sexual health services
- Health promotion and patient education
You will play a key role in helping patients take ownership of their health, working closely with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative colleagues to ensure outstanding patient care. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to further develop your professional skills while supporting the ongoing development of our nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver treatment room services and manage long‑term conditions within your scope of practice.
- Provide immunisations, cervical screening, and sexual health services.
- Perform home visits where appropriate.
- Review and act on test results, referring to senior clinicians when needed.
- Deliver evidence‑based nursing treatments independently or alongside GPs.
- Support patient recalls and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
