A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking GP practice in Andover, Hampshire. You will be part of a close-knit, welcoming clinical team providing care to over 11,000 patients. Ongoing support is built into the role, including bi-weekly meetings with the Clinical Lead, ensuring you feel supported, valued, and continuously developed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care
- Undertake treatment room duties including:
- Chronic disease management (particularly Asthma and COPD)
- Immunisations and vaccinations
- Health screening and health promotion
- Support and contribute to the audit and development of clinical standards
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and patient-focused environment
- Assist in the development and delivery of health promotion programmes and screening clinics
- Ensure the safe storage and administration of medicines and clinical equipment
- Provide advice and clinical support to patients face-to-face and via telephone
- Actively participate in team meetings to promote best practice
About You
- Registered General Nurse with current UK NMC registration
- Previous primary care / general practice experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and confident working in a changing healthcare environment
- Good understanding of local and national healthcare policies
- Confident using IT systems (EMIS Web experience desirable)
- Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
