About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to support a growing business that operates across two sites, so will involve a small amount of travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality occupational health service, supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees.
  • Deliver health surveillance programmes, including audiometry, spirometry, and other statutory health assessments.
  • Conduct pre-placement medicals and fitness-for-work assessments.
  • Carry out workplace drug and alcohol screening in line with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in accordance with clinical governance standards and GDPR requirements.
  • Work closely with HR, Health & Safety, and operational teams to provide expert occupational health advice and guidance.
  • Promote employee wellbeing through health promotion initiatives and preventative healthcare programmes.
  • Manage occupational health casework, including sickness absence management, rehabilitation, and return-to-work assessments.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a current and valid NMC registration.
  • Demonstrable occupational health experience, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
  • Proven experience in delivering health surveillance programmes and managing occupational health casework.
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between sites where required.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using occupational health systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently, prioritise a varied workload, and manage competing demands effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Occupational Health qualification (Diploma or Degree).
  • Good understanding of UK occupational health legislation, Health & Safety requirements, and food industry standards.
  • Experience delivering workplace immunisation programmes and health promotion initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
