Deputy Manager – Children’s EBD Residential Home (Fast Track to Registered Manager)

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + £3,000 - £5,000 Ofsted Performance Bonus
Location: Manchester, M25
Home Size: Established Solo EBD Children’s Home (Current Ofsted Rating: Outstanding)

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working within children's residential care.
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Team Leader ready to progress into senior management.
  • A sound understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
  • A passion for delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care and achieving positive outcomes.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare as a minimum.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete it with full company funding.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes legislation.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver consistently high standards of care.
  • Provide strong leadership during shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and care planning remain at the highest standard.
  • Promote positive outcomes and help create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children.
  • Drive continuous improvement and contribute towards maintaining the home’s Outstanding standards.
  • Work towards becoming the home’s Registered Manager within 12 months through a structured development programme.
