An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join a well-established and forward-thinking GP practice in Maidstone.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician looking to develop their career within primary care and become an integral part of a supportive multidisciplinary clinical team.
The successful candidate will work closely with GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses and the wider practice team, helping to improve medicines optimisation, patient safety and the overall quality of prescribing across the practice.
The Role
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the practice with the safe and effective use of medicines.
Your responsibilities will include supporting prescription processes, conducting medication reviews, dealing with medication queries and helping patients to get the most from their medicines.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience within primary care, with support from an established clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the practice with repeat prescription management
- Processing prescription requests and identifying potential issues
- Conducting structured medication reviews within your competency
- Supporting medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge and new patient registrations
- Identifying medication-related problems and escalating where appropriate
- Supporting patients with medication queries
- Liaising with community pharmacies and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting medicines optimisation and cost-effective prescribing
- Helping to improve prescribing safety and quality
- Supporting audits and clinical searches
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medication records
- Working collaboratively with GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Nurses and the wider MDT

About You
We are looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about patient care and interested in developing their career within primary care.
You will ideally have:
- GPhC registration
- Pharmacy Technician qualification
- Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A patient-focused approach
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- An interest in medicines optimisation and primary care
Previous GP practice or primary care experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other pharmacy settings with the right skills and attitude will be considered.
