What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential care setting
- Significant experience working within residential childcare
- Proven management and leadership experience
- Evidence of achieving Good Ofsted outcomes
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management, or willingness to work towards
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality care
- In-depth understanding of EBD, SEMH and complex or challenging behaviours
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning and risk management
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a residential childcare team
- Passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the leadership, direction and management of the 3-bed EBD children's home
- Oversee the safe and effective day-to-day running of the home
- Ensure children and young people receive high-quality, individualised care and support
- Lead the team in delivering care focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for each young person
- Provide practical leadership, guidance and direction to residential childcare staff
- Recruit, organise, support and develop staff to maintain high standards of care
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, care planning and risk management
- Monitor and maintain the quality of care provided across the service
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
- Promote a positive, child-centred and supportive environment
- Build strong relationships with young people, families and external professionals
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain strong standards of service delivery
- Support young people with EBD, SEMH and other complex needs to develop confidence, resilience and positive life outcomes
