The practice is seeking a committed and patient-focused GP who enjoys delivering high-quality primary care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The Role
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive NHS primary care services, delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities include face‑to‑face, telephone and online consultations, management of acute and chronic conditions, prescribing, review of investigations, and completion of associated clinical administration. The postholder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
There is a particular opportunity for a GP with an interest in diabetes management to support and enhance care for patients with long‑term conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality consultations across a range of clinical presentations
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Provide ongoing care for patients with long‑term conditions, including diabetes
- Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment and management plans
- Prescribe safely and in line with current clinical guidance
- Review and action pathology results, referrals and clinical correspondence
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits and quality improvement projects
- Support clinical governance, safeguarding and patient safety initiatives
- Promote preventative healthcare and patient education
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List
- MRCGP or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working within UK General Practice
- Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
- Experience managing patients with chronic diseases and long‑term conditions
- Interest and experience in diabetes care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care
Desirable
- Additional qualification or diploma in Diabetes Care
- Experience running or supporting diabetes clinics
- Involvement in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary primary care environment
