We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Home Manager to lead our well-established care home in Peterlee. The service currently holds a “Good” rating with the Care Quality Commission and has no significant operational or compliance challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically experienced leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and maintaining strong standards across all aspects of service delivery. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership to the home, ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and responsive care while supporting and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong operational and clinical leadership across the service
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and relevant legislation
- Maintain and further develop high standards of person-centred care
- Oversee care delivery for residents with complex clinical and behavioural needs
- Lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams
- Manage staffing, budgets, audits, and performance effectively
- Promote a positive culture focused on dignity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders
- Ensure robust clinical governance, infection control, and risk management processes are in place
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification with an active NMC PIN
- Significant experience in a senior leadership or management role within a nursing or Learning Disabilities care setting
- Stable and consistent employment history demonstrating commitment and reliability
- Proven experience managing residents with complex needs
Desirable
- Previous experience managing a “Good” or “Outstanding” rated service
- Experience working within complex nursing or specialist care environments
- Leadership or management qualification (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care)
