What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or similar role within children's residential care
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care or Children's Workforce
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Experience supervising and supporting teams of residential support workers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce reports and updates for senior management
- Confident using electronic care recording systems and digital platforms
- Ability to mentor, coach and develop team members
- Flexible approach to working patterns when required
- Passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Ability to build positive relationships with both young people and colleagues
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead, supervise and develop Senior Support Workers and residential teams
- Ensure children receive exceptional care, support and opportunities to thrive
- Take responsibility for the service in the Manager's absence
- Promote a child-centred approach that recognises each young person's individual needs
- Monitor staff performance and identify training and development needs
