About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Occupational Health Technician to join a growing peripatetic team.

You’ll travel across the UK in a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), visiting client sites to deliver high-quality health surveillance services. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop your occupational health skills while making a real difference to employee health and wellbeing across a range of industries.

No previous occupational health experience is essential, as you’ll receive a comprehensive 4-week training and induction programme, followed by ongoing mentoring and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing and baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis.
  • Accurately record and maintain occupational health information and clinical data.
  • Gather and record information to support nursing and physician-led clinical decision-making.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, maintained, serviceable and fit for purpose.
  • Support health promotion activities and wider occupational health services.
  • Work closely with the wider occupational health team to deliver a professional and high-quality service.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.

About You

  • Self-motivated, organised and reliable.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable delivering health surveillance and health promotion activities.
  • Confident using initiative and working in a mobile, client-facing environment.
  • Understanding of GDPR and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

This role could suit candidates from a range of healthcare backgrounds, including:

  • Healthcare Support Worker
  • Emergency Care Assistant
  • Ambulance Technician / Assistant
  • Emergency Care Technician
  • Army Medic

We would also welcome applications from Sports Science graduates looking to start a career in healthcare, provided you have experience carrying out baseline measurements.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Licence held for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Must be aged 21 or over.
  • Ability to provide a driving licence share code.
  • Ability to travel extensively and stay away from home regularly.
  • Suitable facility to park the Mobile Medical Unit at or near your home overnight.

Travel & Overnight Stays

This is a genuinely peripatetic role, so you should be comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays.

You may be away from home for approximately 3 weeks out of every 4, although you will always return home on Friday for the weekend.

To support a positive work-life balance, you’ll receive:

  • 6 weeks’ diary visibility in advance.
  • Subsistence payments for each night away from home.
  • Access to a Premier Inn account for easy hotel booking.
  • Company fuel card.

During the initial weeks of employment, you may need to use your own vehicle or a company-provided hire car while your new company van is being arranged.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Contributory pension scheme up to 6%.
  • Life assurance.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
  • Birthday day off (non-contractual benefit).
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Health cashback plan.
  • Full training and ongoing professional support.

If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your healthcare skills, travel to different locations and build a career in occupational health, we’d love to hear from you.
