We are looking for an experienced and driven Commissioning Domiciliary Care Manager to join a growing elderly care provider in Exeter.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the domiciliary care market and has a strong track record of building relationships with commissioners, local authorities, NHS partners, professionals and families.

You will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, securing commissioned care packages and strengthening their position as a trusted provider of high-quality care for older people.

The Role

As Commissioning Domiciliary Care Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing commissioning opportunities across Exeter and the surrounding areas, while working closely with our operational teams to ensure we can deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local authority and NHS commissioners, social workers, brokerage teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Identifying new commissioning opportunities and increasing referrals and care packages.
  • Responding to tenders, frameworks, expressions of interest and commissioning opportunities.
  • Representing the organisation at commissioning meetings, provider forums and relevant networking events.
  • Monitoring local commissioning activity, market developments and competitor activity.
  • Working closely with the Registered Manager and senior leadership team to develop and implement business growth strategies.
  • Supporting the mobilisation of new care packages and ensuring services are appropriately resourced.
  • Building relationships with families, professionals and community partners to increase awareness of our services.
  • Ensuring commissioned services are delivered in line with contractual requirements, CQC expectations and our own quality standards.
  • Monitoring performance, occupancy, referrals and business development activity and providing regular reports to senior management.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, highly organised and passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience within domiciliary care, elderly care or a closely related health and social care environment.
  • Previous experience working with local authority and/or NHS commissioners.
  • A strong understanding of commissioning processes, care contracts and referral pathways.
  • Experience of developing new business, securing referrals or growing commissioned care packages.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory and quality requirements within adult social care, including CQC expectations.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver measurable results.
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care and improving outcomes for older people.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, if required for the role.
