Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise shifts, providing guidance and support to Residential Support Workers.
  • Create a safe, caring and structured environment where children can thrive.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people through consistent care and support.
  • Promote education, independence, life skills and positive behaviour.
  • Support children through challenging behaviours using therapeutic and child-centred approaches.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of care plans, daily records, incident reports and other documentation.
  • Plan and participate in activities that support children's social, emotional and educational development.
  • Support young people with everyday life skills including budgeting, cooking, appointments and personal care where required.
  • Work in partnership with families, social workers, education providers and external professionals.
  • Mentor and support new and existing team members to ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered.
  • Safeguard children at all times, following company policies and statutory guidance.

About You

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Be 21 years of age or over.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months' experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
  • Have experience leading shifts and supporting colleagues.
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Possess excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
  • Have a sound understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care legislation.
