Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience, excluding sleep-in and on-call payments)

Hours: Full-time, including shift work and on-call duties

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s setting, ideally as a Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation
  • Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards Level 5)
  • Experience supporting inspections and regulatory compliance
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operational management of the home
  • Lead, motivate, and support the residential staff team
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and daily records are maintained to a high standard
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted requirements
  • Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance support to staff
  • Support the delivery of therapeutic and trauma-informed care practices
  • Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and external agencies
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, including undertaking on-call responsibilities
