We are looking for a passionate and experienced Manager to join our modern, purpose-built residential care home located in Cambridge. You will currently be supporting around 10 residents, with various mental health and dementia needs. You will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of care, strong governance, and full CQC compliance, while supporting staff development and service growth. This role is ideal for a confident senior professional who has a passion for quality assurance and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the overall management of the service
- Act as manager-in-charge and lead shifts when required
- Ensure care delivery is safe, effective, person-centred, and CQC compliant
- Support medication governance, including audits, MAR chart oversight, and escalation of concerns
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and support plans
- Supervise, mentor, and support senior staff and care teams
- Assist with recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and appraisals
- Complete staff competency assessments (medication, safeguarding, care delivery)
- Support safeguarding processes, incident management, investigations, and reporting
- Maintain accurate records, audits, and quality assurance documentation
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a Deputy Manager or senior leadership role within a residential care home
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance, and quality standards
- Experience supervising staff and leading shifts
- Good understanding of medication management and safeguarding
- Ability to support audits, inspections, and compliance activity
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Level 3 or Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to work towards Level 5)
