Shift: 20 hours/week - Flexibility to work various shifts based on company needs. On-Call as needed.
Pay Rate: $19.28/hour when working the Sorter shift, $21.84/hour when working the Courier shift.
Location: 42 Parkway Dr, Truro Heights, NS
Description: The Courier/Sorter Relief is a hybrid role. The shift could be on the dock, loading and unloading packages from the trucks, or you could be required to work the Courier shift of delivering packages to the customers. Called in as needed to cover shifts for 20 hours/week - Does not conform to a regular schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Load and unload trailers/trucks.
- Scan packages/mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day.
- Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR).
- Unload all curbside vehicles.
- Load line haul trailers to ensure all pre-scheduled departures are met.
- Scanning/Cubing/Reweighing.
Education:
- Completion of High School.
- Completion of specific vocational courses.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Experience:
- 3 years of driving experience and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
Skills:
- Domestic Shipping.
- Courier Services.
- Shipping and Receiving Operations.
Physical Efforts:
- Physical strength - Lifting/Lowering up to 70 pounds.
Mental Efforts:
- Problem solving.
- Attention to Details Required.
- Concentrated attention for prolonged periods of time.

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
