Senior Family Law Solicitor – Office Based

An established and expanding law firm is seeking a Senior Family Law Solicitor (7+ PQE) to join its close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor looking to take on high-quality, privately funded work, with scope to grow alongside the firm’s future plans.

The Role

You will play a key role in handling a broad caseload of private family law matters, covering both finance and children. The firm has a strong flow of new client instructions, meaning the successful candidate will quickly build a full caseload and play a central part in client relationships and business growth.

This is a fully office-based position in South London, with the possibility of working from a planned new office in the Sutton / Epsom area in the near future.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of privately funded family matters.
• Meeting and advising new clients, with the opportunity to take on all initial instructions until caseload capacity is reached.
• Providing strategic and practical advice across finance and children cases.
• Building strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm.

Candidate Requirements

• 7+ years PQE in Family Law.
• Strong background in private family work (finance and children).
• A proven ability to convert new enquiries into ongoing clients.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.Team‑oriented, professional, and commercially minded.
• Candidates with a public law background will not be suitable for this role.

Package & Benefits

• Salary £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE), with scope for increases as billing grows.
• Transparent, achievable billing targets (3x salary, at £315+VAT charge‑out rate).
• Strong pipeline of new client work – typically reaching a full caseload within 3–6 months.
• Generous holiday package:
• 20 days + bank holidays
• Increasing by 1 day per year of service (up to 25 days)
• Additional discretionary days for birthdays and over the festive period
