Puro Associates are delighted to be supporting a leading law firm who are experts in Sexual Crime in their search for a Sexual Offence Solicitor. As a Sexual Offence Solicitor, you will be joining an experienced legal team with a proven track record in handling serious sexual offences.
Role Overview: As a Sexual Offence Solicitor, you will be involved in advising clients on high-profile and challenging criminal cases, including allegations of rape, sexual assault, historic abuse, and indecent image offences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing thorough legal counsel and building strong client relationships in high-stakes and complex criminal cases.
- Advocating for clients during police interviews and magistrates' court hearings.
- Analysing police and prosecution evidence, drafting defence statements, and managing witness and forensic materials.
- Working closely with investigating officers, barristers, and forensic experts to develop robust defence strategies.
- Overseeing case files, conducting legal research, and engaging in client meetings and conferences.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal department (as a solicitor, paralegal, or other legal professional).
- Strong knowledge of criminal law, with a particular interest in sexual offence defence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative problem-solving mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.).
