Your multifaceted role will be to support the development, optimisation and configuration of thermochemical hydrothermal processing technology from inception through to the commissioning and certification of a Pilot and First-Of-A-Kind (FOAK) green methanol plant. You will be joining a highly focused scientific and engineering team developing hydrothermal treatment technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced person with a broad combination of skills and knowledge, including procurement with some technical understanding. The ideal candidate will have a track record in delivering procurement on time and to budget, with the flexibility to add value wherever support is needed.

To undertake a combination of procurement, ERP implementation and general support activities. You will ensure that purchased items represent value for money whilst meeting ISO 9001 Quality Standards, Customer specifications and International Regulatory Requirements. Training will be provided in specialised skill/knowledge areas on a case-by-case basis.

Undertake general procurement activities that may include:

  • Contribute to the generation of procurement specifications.
  • Build and maintain strategic and key supplier relationships, providing clear communication on day-to-day procurement activities.
  • Accountable for successful supplier performance management.
  • Ensure technical excellence, quality and functionality of all contracts according to quality, safety, reliability, maintainability and cost targets.
  • Provide procurement activity status reports against KPIs and lead time estimates for project schedules as requested.
  • Schedule own work to meet business objectives as detailed in project plans and meet the general business need.
  • Be a champion for the implementation and use of the businesses new ERP system.

It is anticipated that you will spend approximately 50% of your time on procurement activities with the remainder being divided between ERP implementation and general support activities.

Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills. You will have commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills. Proven experience in a relevant environment (Chemical processing plant, oil and gas industry etc). Knowledge of Hazardous area classification and how these may influence procurement decisions is beneficial. Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings.
