Our Uckfield site combines significant sheet-fed litho and finishing capability with some of the best print technology in the UK. This is an opportunity to take on a key production management role within a busy, high-quality environment, leading teams and helping deliver exceptional work for our clients.
Role summary: Ready to lead from the front in a fast paced, high quality print environment. This experienced person will oversee end‑to‑end production in a large sheet fed commercial print facility, ensuring jobs run on time, to spec, within budget and act as the key link between the Operations Director and the Planning and Manufacturing teams to optimise workflow, capacity, and quality across presses and finishing.
Key responsibilities:
- Translate the production plan into daily/weekly press and finishing schedules, balancing capacity, deadlines, and changeovers.
- Lead litho press and finishing supervisors/operators, driving performance, attendance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor live production via MIS/ERP, resolve bottlenecks, and resequence work to protect customer due dates.
- Own quality and waste targets: approve proofs/standards, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with Planning on realistic lead times, capacity modelling, and resource allocation (people, machines, materials).
- Work with the Operations Director on KPIs, OEE, labour planning, capex/maintenance priorities, and health calm under pressure.
