We are currently recruiting for an experienced Litigation Secretary to join our client based in their Trowbridge office. They are looking for someone with strong typing and audio skills, a good telephone manner and a positive, client centred approach. Litigation experience welcome but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Production: Draft, format, and proofread legal documents (witness statements, pleadings, bundles, letters) from audio dictation or notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • File Management: Open, close, and maintain physical and digital client files, ensuring they are organised and up-to-date.
  • Diary & Schedule Management: Manage fee-earners' diaries, book appointments, arrange meetings, and coordinate court dates.
  • Client & Professional Liaison: Act as the first point of contact for clients, barristers, courts, and other professionals, handling enquiries professionally.
  • Court Preparation: Prepare and paginate court bundles, ensuring all documents are ready and submitted on time.
  • Administrative Support: Handle general admin like emails, calls, filing, and potentially billing/invoicing.

Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Administrative Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook), fast and accurate audio typing (60+ WPM), and use of case management software.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English, professional and clear.
  • Organisation: Strong multitasking, prioritisation, and time management.
  • Key Traits: Discretion, confidentiality, attention to detail, reliability, and a calm, professional manner.
  • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
