We are currently recruiting for a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join our client based in Malmesbury.

The role

  • The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of residential conveyancing, be confident communicating with clients and colleagues and work effectively on your own or as part of a team.
  • Assisting with the preparation of contracts, leases and other property related documentation using Case Management and a variety of digital systems and web based portals.
  • Drafting routine correspondence, preparing standard legal documents and updating case files accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaising with Accounts to arrange money transfers, preparing risk and compliance documentation and coordinating with colleagues to ensure all required checks and processes are completed.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other Solicitors.
  • Ensuring clear and timely communication at every stage of the conveyancing process.
  • Making and receiving telephone calls, dealing with clients in person and on the phone, making appointments, assisting with queries.
  • Accurate typing, preparing and amending draft documents, opening files, sending initial letters and providing clients with quotes.
  • Preparing completed files for storage, general filing, photocopying and other duties as required.

With support, intended to take ownership of progressing files in the fee earner’s absence.

  • Carrying out all other general clerical duties and providing reception cover as needed during holidays and sickness.
