AI is reshaping how PureGym operates. As one of the largest gym operators in the world, we are looking to evolve how people use gyms and run gyms. The purpose of this role is to unlock the value of AI across our teams, from Head Office functions through to our gym floors, bridging the gap between capability and adoption. As AI Enablement Specialist, your job is to make AI work in practice. That means identifying where AI can have real commercial impact, designing and delivering use cases with the teams who own them, and building the knowledge, skills, and confidence across the business. You will work hands-on and desk-side with colleagues, and through a network of AI champions embedded across the business. You will also play a key role in ensuring AI is used safely and responsibly, working closely with Cyber Security and Infrastructure to ensure innovation happens within the right guardrails.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and define AI use cases across the business, identifying where AI can drive genuine value and building the case for investment.
  • Taking use cases from idea to Proof of Value, working with a wide range of teams.
  • Upskill colleagues at all levels, from Head Office functions to gym teams, through structured learning, coaching, and desk-side support.
  • Build and nurture a network of AI champions embedded across the business, equipping them to drive adoption within their own teams.
  • Track and communicate the impact of AI adoption, demonstrating the evidence base for ROI across use cases.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure new tools and use cases are assessed and adopted within appropriate governance frameworks.
  • Ensure PureGym’s AI stance and policies evolve to keep it current as the technology and our adoption of it evolves.

The Person:

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a genuine passion for AI and how it can change the way people work. The following core attributes are essential:

  • Innovative and curious: always seeking new applications and better ways of working; as comfortable prototyping an idea as communicating one.
  • Biased towards action: takes initiative, works hands-on, and sees things through to measurable impact rather than stopping at recommendations.
  • Collaborative: thrives working across teams and functions and energised by bringing others on a journey.
  • A great communicator: able to make AI feel accessible, exciting and relevant to any audience — from gym floor staff to senior leadership.
  • Credible under scrutiny: comfortable navigating governance conversations and able to earn trust with Cyber Security and risk stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A track record of enabling others: designing and delivering training, coaching, or capability-building programmes.
  • Able to own change management initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • A keen interest to work with AI tools, particularly large language models and generative AI applications in a business context.
  • Experience translating complex or emerging technology into practical, accessible guidance for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with technical governance, policy design, or working within Cyber Security and risk frameworks.
  • Strong commercial awareness to frame AI opportunities in terms of business value and measurable outcomes.

PureGym is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. Our company mantra is ‘Everybody Welcome’ and we are dedicated to promoting a diverse and inclusive place to work. From a hiring standpoint, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to ensuring that our PureGym colleagues reflect the diversity of the nation as well as our millions of gym members we serve.

Please note: Qualifications and Skills represent the essential criteria for the role, which need to be met to be offered an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme. Volume of eligible applications may impact everyone being able to be offered an interview. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the advert may be withdrawn at any time. Early application is encouraged.
