We are seeking a Junior ME&P Engineer to join our Central Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Energy & Engineering, this is an exciting opportunity to promote engineering excellence and deliver innovative, energy-efficient MEP solutions across our expanding international portfolio. We are looking for someone who has perhaps recently graduated, or newly qualified in this field to join us.
In this role, you will support the design, governance, and technical oversight of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems for both new developments and refurbishment projects across the UK, Denmark, Switzerland, and the United States. You, alongside the team, will ensure the highest standards of technical quality, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle performance, while driving continuous improvement and innovation in system design and delivery.
The role is accountable for overseeing contractor design outputs, managing and developing internal technical standards, and ensuring cost-effective, future-focused engineering solutions that enhance asset performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ongoing development and management of M&E specifications across all regions.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, and governance across all MEP disciplines.
- Oversee and assure the quality of all design deliverables, ensuring compliance, consistency, and best-practice engineering.
- Drive continuous improvement of design formats, specifications, and standards to ensure optimal whole-life value for each property.
- Build strong relationships and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and shape supply chain development to ensure capability, innovation, and alignment with standards.
- Lead quality assurance activities across all MEP design stages.
The Person
We are looking for someone with some experience in ME&P design or project management. Our preferred candidate will be either a recent graduate (e.g. mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or newly qualified (CIBSE or similar). The candidate will have some knowledge of building regulations, legal compliance and industry best practice.
We’re looking for someone who drives innovation in their work, can bring a fresh perspective and has a can-do approach. We’ll need someone to be a team player, comfortable working across different markets and workstreams, stay organised and close to the detail. Importantly, our successful candidate will also learn to be commercially astute, balancing member experience, brand standards and financial return.
Join us on our mission to bring high quality, affordable fitness to everyone, everywhere.
