Exciting opportunity to join PureGym as the Head of Procurement!

In this brand new role, you will lead a team that will partner the business and own the delivery of 'best in class' service, support and expertise across a number of procurement activities and areas of indirect spend. You will ensure a strong and sustainable supply chain that supports the business, its operations, investment and growth. You will work collaboratively with the Procurement team and business to deliver the Procurement plan & KPI's and driving business performance.

This is a hybrid working role, with 2 days in the office and willingness to travel Internationally as required.

The Role:

  • Support the Procurement Director with setting the direction of the team and its goals, strategies and policies, and aligning Procurement with the overall businesses.
    Lead and mentor a team of Procurement Managers and ensure the management and prioritisation of workload across the team.
  • Own all sourcing, tender, contracting, and supply chain processes and activities across multiple functions, markets and areas of indirect goods and services spend.
  • Oversee the delivery of large and complex procurement projects.
    Support the development and delivery of the Procurement strategy and plan, ensuring this remains aligned with the wider business strategy, achieving all Procurement KPI's and driving business performance.
  • Develop strong and credible relationships with all key stakeholders and be seen as the 'go-to' individual who adds value and is an extension of their team.
    Apply appropriate 'best practice' discipline, processes and controls to ensure all activities are delivered on time, to scope, and are delivered professionally & ethically.
  • Continually review priorities and identify areas for improvement, and opportunities to drive value and business performance.
    Be the escalation point for supplier and contractual issues.
    Support the seamless transition in any supply chain changes, minimising disruption to the business.
  • Ensure all Procurement activities follow value for money principles and consider working capital, total cost and sustainability, service, quality and cost.
    Ensure all centrally defined governance, processes and controls are embedded across all central functions and markets.
    Be a custodian of our culture and values, and a brand ambassador in all internal and external engagements.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Managers to negotiate robust contracts that achieve optimum commercial & legal positions.
  • Lead on high-level Group negotiations or supplier relationships.

The Person:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in a fast paced and strategic indirect Procurement environment.
  • Quantifiable achievements delivered in a large consumer and multi-site organisation.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft tools (word, excel, powerpoint).
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with experience working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ideally has a passion for, or an interest in fitness and leisure.
  • Experienced in building strong & credible relationships with a wide stakeholder group.
  • A dedicated and hard working team player with high energy, and who communicates effectively and works collaboratively.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to adapt both style and approach as required.
  • Great instincts, and uses data & insights to make recommendations to drive the right decisions.
  • Disciplined, is calm under pressure, and thrives working at pace.
    Strong understanding of supply chain contracts, commercial contracting & law.
  • Natural ability to be innovative, think strategically and commercially, and has a pragmatic and solutions-based mindset
  • High-performer with high-standards and work ethics, and continually challenges themself.
  • Strong diligence, prioritisation and organisational skills, and is an initiative taker.
