A leading architecture practice is looking to appoint an ambitious and influential Associate Director to join its growing London-based sustainability team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior sustainability professional who wants to shape sustainable design outcomes across high-profile UK and international projects. Sustainability is embedded across the practice, and this role will work closely with architects, interior designers, consultants, clients and senior stakeholders to ensure environmental and social sustainability is considered throughout every stage of design and delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the sustainability strategy and consultancy offer, supporting project teams, contributing to business development, and acting as a visible sustainability expert both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:- Lead and advise on sustainability across design projects.
- Support the development of the practice’s sustainability strategy, consultancy services and wider sustainability targets.
- Provide expert guidance to architects, designers, clients and project teams across all RIBA stages.
- Oversee the delivery of sustainability certifications and frameworks including WELL, BREEAM, LEED, NABERS and Fitwel.
- Qualified and experienced assessor in WELL and either BREEAM or LEED.
- Strong experience delivering sustainability outcomes across built environment projects.
- Confident leading sustainability across projects, including client communication, design team coordination, budgets, programme and delivery.
- Strong understanding of low-carbon buildings, operational energy, embodied carbon, fabric-first design, Passivhaus principles, sustainable materials, UK environmental legislation and Building Regulations.
