Our Civil Engineering client operates throughout the UK delivering integrated solutions for projects in Water, Utilities, Rail, Highways and Energy. Their Civils division operates within the water industry delivering projects for Tier 1 main contractors. Due to recent awards and a healthy order book for clients working in a 5-year framework, they are looking for a Contracts Manager to be responsible for multiple projects throughout the Midlands and Anglian regions. Based out of their Nuneaton office on a flexible hybrid basis, this represents a fantastic opportunity for someone to help drive growth and success across two of their regions.
Responsibilities:
- You will oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of their projects, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and client expectations. This role is critical in managing risk, maximizing profitability, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the management of the Tender Process and identify construction risks.
- Manage the pre-construction process and ensure timely contract administration, by working closely with the Commercial Manager.
- Help PMs plan and programme projects to ensure timely completion to budget and to the required standards.
- Review, control and report on costs of a project and maximise commercial opportunities.
- Lead in the process of subcontractor and supplier procurement.
- Monitor and lead the SHEQ performance of site teams, ensuring all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Attend/arrange co-ordination, progress and programme/resource meetings as required with clients.
- Where present, identify additional and future business opportunities and help develop relationships with prospective clients.
Experience required:
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience of working within the water and/or sewage industries (preferred).
- Previous experience in a similar role within Civil Engineering and design & build projects.
- Strong civil engineering background with solid knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Commercial understanding, to assist with reporting and monitoring in line with the contract (Contractors Instruction, Compensation Event, NEC3 processes).
- Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR).
