We’re recruiting for a senior Programme Delivery Manager / Portfolio Manager to join an established infrastructure contractor at an exciting stage of growth.

The business has a strong and established presence within Rail and is now actively expanding its capability across Energy, Utilities and wider infrastructure.

We’re looking for someone who has taken real ownership of the commercial and operational delivery of multiple projects or contracts – managing performance, clients, project teams and supply chain, while also playing an active role in winning work and developing new opportunities.

The role will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the successful delivery and performance of multiple infrastructure projects/contracts
  • Managing commercial performance, budgets, forecasting, risk and profitability
  • Leading Project Managers and wider delivery teams
  • Managing key client relationships and ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and operationally
  • Working within NEC or similar contract environments
  • Supporting tenders, bids, frameworks and work-winning activity
  • Identifying opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Helping the business develop its offering across Energy, Utilities and other regulated infrastructure markets
  • Working closely with senior leadership to shape future growth

We're particularly interested in people from: Rail | Energy | Power | Utilities | Transmission & Distribution | Substations | Overhead Lines | Civils | Highways | Water | Nuclear | Major Infrastructure

You don't necessarily need experience across both Rail and Energy. We're equally interested in an established Rail/infrastructure delivery leader who can help diversify the business, or someone from Energy/Power/Utilities who brings strong contractor-side delivery experience and can help accelerate growth within these markets.

Experience working with organisations such as Network Rail, National Grid, DNOs, major utilities, Tier 1 contractors or infrastructure frameworks would be particularly relevant.

The key is that you've owned delivery rather than simply monitored it – and you're commercially minded, comfortable in front of clients and interested in helping a business grow.

This is a senior opportunity with genuine scope to influence what the business does next, not simply inherit a portfolio and maintain the status quo.

If you're currently responsible for a portfolio of infrastructure projects and would like the opportunity to combine delivery, commercial responsibility and business growth, I'd love to have a confidential conversation.
